obviously they can stay in the big 12. i have heard rumors that the Big 10 has turned them down before (last yr.?) and have heard rumors they are the SEC's #14. can and will some Mizzou insider (or one with inside sources) place odds on what's likely? i mean, with a&m there was a groundswell of fan support and a lot of passion. i'm not aware of this situation existing with Mizzou fans. am i just uninformed?

They can stay in the Big 12 because it is desperate right now. But, if they did, look for Texass and the Big 12 office to screw them over as much as possible in the coming years because there is serious bad blood.

you're uninformed - over the past month or so, the Mizzou to SEC movement has been an amazing crescendo of fan-based, bottom-up rantin' n ravin' n' other SEC-worthy fandemonia

From the best source Mizzou has....

Been told Big Ten was not mentioned as an option for #Mizzou during yesterday's curators meeting.

I wondered the same thing. Then it occurred to me that if Mizzou were to move to the B1G then Gary Pinkel would come unglued. About one third of Mizzou's football team is from Texas. With a move to the B1G that recruiting pipeline would virtually disappear. With a move to the SEC I can only see it getting stronger.

I know a lot of Mizzou fans and alumni and two months ago they did want the B1G. But two months ago who would have ever thought that Mizzou would have the option of moving to the SEC. Now they are almost unanimous in their support of moving to the SEC. Among those who don't want to most are afraid of the football competition and they will admit it too.

The beauty of this is that Texas and Oklahoma were trying to lay it to the rest of the Big 12. All the other schools would have been twisting in the breeze. Now it's the Longhorns and Sooners that are getting screwed and Mizzouri is in the position of calling all the shots. SEC, B1G, Big 12 - Mizzou gets to decide.

All I know is that there's some deals going on under the table for Mizzou to grant the AD to consider other conferences. It's either the BIg Ten or SEC. I wish someone would just come out and say who contacted Mizzou.
