Welker vs. Revis

With the Pats/Jets game looming, I started thinking about this match-up. General question first: will Revis be assigned to cover Welker all game? I don't think Revis is typically assigned to slot guys but then again on what other team is the best receiver in the slot? Don't remember what happened last year.
Assuming Revis is assigned to Welker all day, what do Welker's stats look like?
Some numbers to consider when pondering this question:
Welker -- Averaging 10 catches, 154 yards, 1.25 TDs per game
Revis -- According to Pro Football Focus, quarterbacks throwing at Darrelle Revis have a passer rating of 3.6 through four games. Revis has allowed just three receptions in four games.

Depends on down and distance like it always has..

The gameplan in the playoff game was to play him on Branch and Play zone in the short and intermediate areas to force the Pats to throw deep but they had no one to throw to deep
If they do this then Ochocinco has to have a big game for them to be successful

is anyone else bored by the pats/jets rivalry...It's not really a rivalry when the jets have not won shite in like 40 years

welker is going eat revis alive if revis plays him in the slot... i don't think revis is use to covering wrs in the slot.

Revis follows the WR he's on everywhere, he's not like Nnamdi who stays on one side the whole game.
He can cover them all, but the Jets like matching up Revis with shifty WRs if they can...

Then they are in trouble. He has been a huge disappointment imo.

Well you are over reacting
he is getting better each week and his reps have been growing every weeek. Last week he had a few solid catches
Its pretty insane to ask for big numbers from a guy that is changing systems after 8 years in one completely different as well as being surrounded by a ton of guys Brady would trust with his life (Welker and Branch) as well as two emerging young TEs.
His route on the Pats first touchdown last week was perfectly executed and was a big part in getting Welker open for the TD.

Come on man! He's been an after thought so far. They would be every bit as good of a team so far with or without him. Ive seen 2 plays where he has actually cost them a turnover because of terrible route running.

Pats use Welker in the slot so he'll be a match up problem. Probably won't be guarded by Revis if he's there.

Your "I'm the biggest Pats homer alive" act is getting old bro

Have you watched the games?
Im not saying he has been an impact player, all im saying is that he has gotten better every week and his role has increased each week
Youre rushing to judge his impact because hes not playin like Moss did.

How do you get homer out of that?
I didnt say he was playing great, all I said was that hes gotten better each week which you cant deny
If i was as a big a homer as you make me out to be Id be calling him a probowler and blah blah blah, but i never did that just gave my observation of his play after watching all the games

Pats have always been my "second team" behind my Browns of course. I watch all of their games. Im Ridley's #1 fan too so I dont miss.

Its hard not to get better with the way he started out, just horrific.

You make alot of excuses for him. He seems like a slow learner, runs poor routes, doesnt come back for the ball, and has little or no separation speed left.

I just have different expectations for him. They will find him a role for the team and eventually hell understand what he needs to do to get open in this offense IMO
Belicheck would have cut him if he wasnt working hard and have no use for him
He wont put up big numbers right now when brady is throwing to welker 55 percent of the time, then to TEs another 25 percent of the time and the other 20 percent is being split between him branch therunning backs.
Also the Patriots are 3-1, and leading the league in passing yards right now so his "terrible" play obviously isnt hurting that bad

If there's one thing about Brady its that he will throw to the guy thats open. He spreads the ball around as good as anyone. There's a reason he's not throwing to CO.

Correct, ne's non-factor although he has cost them a couple of turnovers.
Just sayin' I get that you like the guy. I thinks there's little doubt though that the Pats are disappointed.
