When I was a kid I remember fans shaking their keys at games. People yelling "Go home mother f%$!ers. It's gonna be a long night!" I wish i had a link for this but don't but I read that shaking your keys makes the stadium louder. I know we are the loudest no matter what a machine or a person or article says, but why don't we do it? It'll only make the loudest place in the world louder. Any thoughts?

It was an unusual combination of Georgia Tech-style geekiness and NASCAR-style trashiness mixed together in a single act.
It was briefly fashionable for about 2 years in the mid-90's, and thankfully was put to rest. And it was most definitely not loud.

I know gay places do it, but it has to make it louder.

my first couple years at lsu.....
we did it when the game was put out of hand, usually with a couple minutes left in the forth. the keys representing the ball game was in the bag.
didn't have a chance to do that in 98 or 99
i think it's dumb.

I thought this was done during an Arkansas game when LSU was finally beginning to rise from the ashes in hopes of landing a Carquest Bowl.

DEFINITELY not like the cow bells! That's an extra accessory like pom pom's are towels are some other bull shite! Everyone has access to car keys, it makes the stadium louder! Quit trying to be Clay Travis and too cool!

In 98-01 student section would do it on Kick-offs, I never understood why but everyone did it, so we did too. It just stopped on year. Those were the Dinardo years, you should have seen how happy we were just to make the Independence Bowl.

I always figured you shook the keys as to say "Go ahead and get the keys and warm up the buses"
I thought it was mainly done at basketball games.
