I got offered student tickets to the game

But I am not a student at LSU. Dont you have to have a LSU I.D. to get in? How would one go about entering w/o a I.D.?

Only chance you got is to borrow the id of a student. If the line isn't long you will need one of some one who looks similar to you. When the line is long they don't really check the picture.

You'd have to upgrade it at the ticket office. Or borrow a student's ID.

You will need an student ID. I believe you could have upgraded to a non student/guest but the time may have passed for that, I'm not sure

The price used to come up to face value of a regular ticket. So, if student ticket was $6 and reg ticket was $36 you would pay $30 for upgrade.
There may be a line at the ticket office. Go do that ASAP in the morning and then go tailgate.

I thought they scanned IDs? I have not idea how the it works but I'm a grad student but dont' have enough points to get football tickets. I did some research last year because I tried to get a friend in with my info but was told they scan the card not just look at the picture.

Did this with ex while she was grad student. It was good fun even if you're a few years older than most students.

Some games don't allow upgrades. This isn't one of them. Just eat the $30 or so you'll have to pay to upgrade it and enjoy your stress-free day. I've seen far too many crying girls and irate guys stopped at the gates for the money to be worth the stress to me.

Yea its actually for the florida game. And they aren't doing exchanges for that one.
