Very few fans from other schools give a rat's arse about our traditions.

Especially those that regulate what a visitor does...

like the Don't walk on the grass or the Uncover....

I was at A&M years back and someone yelled Uncover at me.....I yelled back...GO frick Yourself...

This Aggie chick I was with and her friends kind of rolled their eyes at the Aggie who yelled at me...

It honestly is ridiculous. There are some people on campus who just love being uncover nazi's. Game last week some jackass student honestly was getting pissed off at some dad who was there for the game with his student daughter. He kept yelling uncover at him each time we would do a yell, but you aren't even supposed to uncover when doing a yell.

I can understand the value of some traditions such as the not walking on the grass around the MSC because it's a memorial. It's under construction currently though so no need to worry about walking on any of the grass. I thought it was pretty sad though when I was talking to a freshman girl and she was pretty scared to walk on any of the grass becuase she wasn't sure what she was allowed to walk on and what not. Some people just need to calm down a little, if I ever see one of our fans yelling at a visiting team for unknowingly not following a tradtion I will gladly tell them to stfu.

This "tradition" is more of a sign of respect and only has jurisdiction on one building, the Memorial Student Center; a building meant to honor those fallen Aggies who died during their service of WWII.

On a related note, Freshmen in the Corps are not allowed to take any shortcuts, and therefore must walk down the length of a sidewalk to get where they're going, i.e. not walk on ANY grass.

Hope that helps.

Same experience when I went to grad school there. Uncover is not a tradition...just a few count freshman that want to be badasses.
