rice ratio in jambalaya

i have 5 pounds of cut up smoked sausage that i would like to make a jambalaya with. can you please let me know how many cups of rice do i need to make this a good meat to rice ratio?

that's nice but too difficult.
i'm browning the damn sausage, adding onions and coninuing to brown the dish. i just want to know how many cups to rice for 5 lbs of meat.

It's about as difficult as browning sausage so if you can do that you should be okay with the calculator.

Always figured the amount of rice was dependant on the amount of liquid not meat? But I'm still a rookie.

For 5 pounds of sausage, you will need 2 pounds of rice, or about 4 1/2 cups of raw rice. Should come out just fine on the rice to meat ratio.

Point of reference:
The Jambalaya Festival contest allows 3 pounds of chicken for every pound of rice. Not sure if it is bone in or boneless. A pound of long grain rice is 2.5 cups raw rice.
Use twice as many cups of liquid as cups of raw rice.
