Threads like this make me not so proud to be a Mountaineer fan.
I have lived in West Virginia my entire life and am a grad student at WVU now. I go out all the time in Morgantown, and I never encounter idiots like the ones described in here. Everyone I tailgate with always embraces visiting fans and loves interacting with them.
Hope you guys don't judge the entire fan base based on these stories but definitely understand your concern.

95% of the people we encountered were great. Some bought us beer. Most welcomed us and wanted to make sure that we were having a good time. Overall, I thought this was an outstanding fanbase. One of the nicest road trips we've been on. No comparison to the trash in Gainesville. LSU has had its own problems. The bad WVU fans saying FU LSU to us didn't seem like college material. Every fan base has jerks. To me, it's unreasonable think that you won't run into a few jerks here and there.

from most accounts/friends i have spoken with it sounds like morgantown is complete garbage and a stinkhole. Everyone i talked to said they would NOt go back. people there were animals. sad indeed. Thank goodness they will not be joining our beloved SEC.
