I wish I had a link to show it. For those who don't know, Jerry West played for WV basketball and is the face of the NBA on that stupid logo that they have.

Jerry West could actually make a shot that was greater than 4 feet away from the basket, so I'm ok with that.

Northern WV - Do most of your fans think that we faked those injuries?

Probably because Shaq is respectful. He would apologize too after bringing the rim down on West's head.

I believe we fake some on the defensive side of the ball. I think its smart football. No different than an offense playing hurry up so tired/injured players on defense cant sub.

well thats a little OT, but if you look at our boards it seems the consensus is that they think they did fake some of them, personally i doubt it and to be honest I believe it gives us more time to get the right play call

I agree, I don't know why both parties. are so pissy over it. On the one hand as a WVU fan, I think a few of the defensive injuries were embellished. Players went down, hopped right back up without any stretching, back in the game the next play. That said if I were an LSU fan I wouldn't mind, it's a bit of gamesmanship. Smart and heads up play. I'm a big hockey fan so I'll use this as a comparison. In hockey when a puck is iced the team who is defending cannot sub their players out, so needless to say the players begin to get winded quickly. It's not unusual for a player to purposefully break his stick before a face off so he can skate to the bench, get a new one and delay the game a bit longer to give his boys a breather. In soccer you have late game subbing, it's purely designed to further run the clock out. Baseball you have bean balls, throwing purposefully at the other player to either brush them back or send a message. And it goes on and on, these tactics aren't within the rules, but ask any professional player and they're almost as much of a part of the game as anything else. Sports are like a chess match, "cramping" in a no huddle is a tactical move.

Jerry West from WV and Oscar Robertson from Cincy would have outscored Shaq (before the 3 point line) and played defense on him it would have been embarrassing to Shaq, plus outrebounded him. Don't mess with the legends of the game.

And pete maravich would have outscored both of them. whats your point? LSU has a better All-Time college basketball team and it aint even close.

RidiculousHype 13-team schedule? No way the SEC skips the SECCG for one year, so I guess there'll be 7 in the West, and 6 in the East in 2012? Still 8 conference games? How would the East vs. West matchups work with a 7-6 imbalance?

Jerry West - 2309 points scored
Pistol Pete: 3667.
All time wvu doesn't hold a candle to LSU. But the only two that do are unc and ucla.

The greatest trade ever in the NBA. Sent Vlade to Charlotte to trade up to get Kobe, then with the free cap room signed Shaq.

We also had Hot Rod Hundley around the J West era as well, I'm convinced that guy invented swag. During one game he dribbled down the court, pulled up where the modern 3 point line is and got on one knee, then shot it. This was during a tight game too, he had a bunch of trick shots he used to break out during games just make guys look like fools. He was famous for throwing up hook shots. During his number retirement ceremony a 2 years back, the students start chanting "one more shot", guy sunk a hook shot like it was no big deal and the place lost it.
