If so who? Whack to have unbalanced division schedule but rotating division matchups already cause disparity now ( See Floridas schedule this year)...Will we get another team soon or go at least one year with uneven number? I think Ga. Tech would be great.

no divisions, everyone plays round robin, top 2 in the SECCG

Round robin would mean everyone would play each other. If that were the case, we'd have no out of conference games. But I know where you were going.

VT

That would be my choice but not sure it makes sense for VT; they have a pretty easy path to a BCS game as is. Not sure it there would be more revenue for them in the SEC vs ACC.

GA Tech left the sec before, doubt they get an invite. I would think MIZZ to the west in 2012 and auburn moves to the east, or NC State to the east for 14th team.

That gives sec presence in east Texas and north Carolina and sec basically stays an southeastern regional conference.

Think money markets. USF, Mizzou, TCU, Miami, Louisville are the only real options.

Only legit candidate on that list is Mizzou.

Isn't the 10 year SEC schedule due sometime this year or next? In which case they would get the 14th resolved before the end of the season.

I see no teams worthy of inclusion to the SEC. Keep it at 13.

ncaa requires divisions to play championship game. it would require a special waiver, and the major conferences control the committee like the UN Security Council, so the Big12 alone could and would strike it down... since they don't get a championship game w/ 10 teams.

You're welcome to take NC State. But I'm not sure the SEC is up for seeing one of their schools suffer the kind of arse whipping State took from Cincinnati last Thursday.

Likely won't be a 14th team for 2012. This whole expansion thing is a big frick up by the SEC.

Face it people - it's WVU.

Any ACC grab comes with a very pricey $20 million buyout, and unless it is Clemson or FSU or maybe UNC, we would be taking a much lesser level team than WVU. Neither Clemson not FSU would extend the SEC tv footprint one inch.

VT and GT are maybe the only other schools in the ACC that have SEC-type football credentials, but VT goes as long as Beamer is HC - what happens when he retires? Will they stay strong? And GT does not extend the SEC footprint, plus they left the SEC before, should they come back now? Besides they both also come with a $20 million price tag, like Clemson, FSU, and UNC.

Apart from the ACC the only reasonable option is Mizzou, which is surely a B1G expansion team in the making - just waiting for that B1G invite. They'd leave the SEC in a heartbeat. They just don't have the "feel" of an SEC fanbase or team.

OTOH, WVU wants in, that ought to count for something. And they played a very intense game versus LSU, so it's pretty sure they could compete in the SEC on some level this year alone.

WVU is the one realistic team that has a lot in common with the SEC, and very little baggage.
