Packers punt the ball. Devin Hester is back deep to "return" and calls a fair catch early in the sequence so the entire Packers team goes towards him but the punt ended up on the other side of the field to a wide open Johnny Knox who takes it back for a TD that's called back on a phantom hold.

That was incredible. Everyone was fooled. the guy wasnt even blocking anyone. I cant believe they called holding. they probably through the flag because they were so faked out.

Packers punt and Hester runs up toward the left sideline to "field" the punt. Meanwhile....

The punt is actually on the right sideline and Johnny Knox is fielding it and could have walked into the endzone. It was awesome.

It was then called back for a hold, but the Fox guys can't find who committed the penalty.

So it wasn't improv but obvious drawn up/scripted punt return misdirection?

Also, I saw they were down 10 or more would the punt TD return have altered the outcome of the game?

A certain "subset" of people are either really happy or pissed right now, but Packers still probably would have won.

possibly.. there were still about 50 seconds left when he scored on the return.. they have time for an onside kick and FG..

Would have been down 3 with 50 seconds left pending extra poing. Could have onsides kicked

The entire punt block team flowed towards Devin Hester's side of the field except for a wide open Johnny Knox who actually fielded the punt so it was drawn up.

Would have led to an onside kick with about 50 seconds left, bears would have been down 3.

It was an intentional play. The Bears went to set up their wall for hester.

I haven't been on a punt coverage team since I was in middle school, but if we were going to punt to one side of the field, we usually told everybody beforehand. I would have thought they would mention that in the NFL too, but it sure looked like they were just mirroring Hester.

The hold was before the replay they showed. He grabbed the gunners jersey when they were both running down the field. It happened, they just didn't rewind enough.
