At the LB Gautier game and Richie has 2 rushing and one passing TD that I've seen. I got here at halftime. I know he has at least 8 tackles and 80 rushing yards. Hr just took it 66 to the house.

Legit.

I posted some info earlier today on another linebacker LSU is going to get a visit from in the "Offer list & prospects" thread

Four star 2012 Safety/linebacker #5 OLB Josh Harvey-Clemons from Lowndes HS in Valdosta, GA is taking an official to LSU. Either 6'6" or 6'5" & 205 lbs. who plays safety in high school.

Atlanta JC
quote:

Josh Harvey-Clemons, AJC Super 11 selection, will visit UGA, Florida, LSU and Louisville

One of the top uncommitted seniors in the state is AJC Super 11 member Josh Harvey-Clemons of Lowndes High School.

The 6-foot-5, 200-pounder will take official visits to UGA, Florida, LSU and Louisville. JHC is projected to play safety in college, but is also getting looks at outside linebacker.

“The dude is a freak … he’s the best I’ve played against in the last three years,” said Trent Thompson, quarterback of No. 1-ranked McEachern High School.

“I think he will play safety in college, if they don’t put him somewhere on offense. I don’t think he’s thick enough to play linebacker. Wherever he goes, he’s going to be outstanding.

“I still can’t believe the interception he had against me. He jumped so high, and kept getting higher and higher, and came down with it. The dude is a freak.”

Here’s McEachern coach Kyle Hockman on JHC: “He’s a heck of an athlete – big, tall and rangy. They use him a lot of different ways at Lowndes I don’t know what he’s going to play in college because they use him everywhere at Lowndes.

“At the strong safety position, he’s unreal. He’s involved in everything and he’s all over the field. Defensively, Lowndes uses him to take the best WR and he pretty much controls the middle of the field.”

A Georgia fan told me they are recruiting him at linebacker. I would think Chavis would use him as a linebacker too.

I haven't seen anything about him and LSU before today. Scout doesn't even show him having an offer or being interested in LSU.

I think with the way the LSU defense is playing we may get a few looks from some players who weren't considering LSU at the beginning of the season.

FWIW Dan Mullen watched Richie in Person last week vs D'Iberville. I think he is the best HS player in MS this year.

He is TOP 3. Imo Alford, Ward, and Brown are the top 3 but they all bring something different to the table so its hard to say one way or the other.

Alford - Athlete
Ward - Stud off the edge
Brown - Natural Football Player

This...

Richie had 20 plus tackles on night.

Turned game around with a 66 yd run from scrimmage for go ahead TD. Got pitch for run in RedZone and saw double closing and forward pitched for TD to WR for go ahead 2pt conv. As announcer said, ran one for score, pitched one for score and, caught one for score.
Intangibles is the word.

Don't get why LSU isn't pursuing him harder. The guy makes all of these tackles yet his tackling still isn't fundamentally sound. He could be an amazing LBer in college, especially if Chavis got a hold of him

Any other year, staff would be swarming all over him like flies on poo. This is an unusually strong year for in-state linebackers.

Really...

Amd where does productivity (leading state as sophomore) and following in production for 2 years after give you any justifiable reason to believe his technique is flawed?

He rips through ball carriers with a vengeance in all the video/games we can see and leaves no cleat touching turf. What are you seeing?

Chavis has seen him and knows him.

Figure it's kinda hard keeping the weight on since they have him play half the positions on offense and defense and plays about every snap.

I disagree. Richie starts on defense and offense and also plays special teams (he has a blocked punt return for a TD. )

The other guys are exclusively one way players Alford on offense and Ward on D
