And yes, it is reasonable to assume that, in our system, most people charged with a crime are to some degree guilty (of something relating to the crime).
I guess for uninvolved observer, it doesn't really matter what they assume. So playing the odds (which definitely favor those arrested/charged being guilty) is reasonable. It just kind of makes my skin crawl knowing how many people make a habit of that assumption, and those same people end up serving on juries. I'd like to think everyone can seperate their day to day assumptions from their responsibilities as jurors, but habits are often very hard even to be aware of, much less break.

In this particular case, however, I always believed that the general probabilities were being skewed by the media circus triggered by one of the accused being the starting QB for LSU. As soon as I heard that, I knew just about anything was possible. Including a bunch of overeager knucklehead cops rushing to make a case to prove to the media that they were giving the football players "special treatment" and ending up arresting entirely innocent guys. Maybe we'll find out eventually, but my guess is we'll never really know.

My guess. We will never really know if he is guilty or not. Just if there isn't enough evidence, or if there is enough stories pointing at him.
