This is a huge game, potentially, and winner has a legit shot at opposing the SEC in the MNCG. Both top 10 teams.

The winner plays Texas, Mizzou, and OU as good teams should be unquestionably favored otherwise, really all but OU. OSU has the Sooners at home in a rivalry game.

Sure, A&M has not been on this stage in a long time, OSU ever, but they got a shot.

Both started the year ranked 8 & 9, and if you look it up, (i calculated) 8.15 is the average Coaches' preseason ranking for MNCG winners through the BCS era. 8.8 is the current statistical trend.

I got the Cowboys for no particular reason. Thoughts?

Are you talkin spread or just to win?

I think A&M wins. They have a really good running back tandem in Gray and Michael. OSU gave up 365 yards rushing to Tulsa last week. (Granted extenuating circumstances). A&M can control the clock if they need to. Also Tannehill is pretty good, especially when you consider last year he started out as a WR. Dual threat and makes good decisions generally. They can either control the clock or strike very quickly depending on need.
This is the second year they have their DC, so the system is now firmly entrenched in the players, and of their 22 starters they lost 1. (iirc) They had OSU shut down in the first half last year, but they failed to make the proper adjustments at half. I doubt they repeat that mistake.

ETA: A&M has only played 2 games thus far and in those 2 games Tannehill put up 583yds 4TD's 1INT. (albeit against SMU and Idaho) He is 47/65.
Also the Tulsa OSU game might have taken more of a toll than they would like to think. That essentially cost them a day of prep. They were playing ball until around 4am Sunday. They were probably still slow Monday.

He has a valid point. The winner of this game realistically only has Oklahoma to beat. And after watching this past week vs an overrated FSU team, they are beatable. Not likely, but possible.

Win. I think both are pretty even and have a ton to prove. I don't know that much Xs & Os about OSU other than their offensive players but it seems have have a legit team.

You make good points about A&M. I'm really looking forward to this game.

Yes, and I say potentially because at the end of the season this could be a meaningless game and both teams could end up losing to KSU and Iowa State, but they also could run the table.

I think this game benefits OKST so much that its a 2:30 game and not a night game. For betting purposes i like OKST +4.5. i can really see this game being a 3 to point game. OKst plays a bend dont break D. they give up points knowing their Offense can put up points. A&M is a solid team this year with a good RB and good QB.

I take A&M soley based on home field. I like OKst alot as a football team and im pulling for them to win this game. I said in the betting thread this is the game i look forward to the most that i havent bet on. I havent been this excited about a game i dont have money on or Homer interest in.

ETA:

I dont think either of these teams beat OU. A&M wont go to Norman and win, And OKst just cant get it done against OU. they always seem to give a good game but not get it done

Barring any injury prior to the game, I feel like A&M will win by 10+ points.

Ok State's secondary is questionable and they have had trouble stopping the rush this year. A&M can control the clock with the run game and it will open up dangerous deep threats Fuller and Swope on the play action.

I don't think it is likely but definitely possible. I would say A&M is better than FSU, and I was slightly underwhelmed by OU this past weekend. JMHO.

Only problem for TAMU is even if they win this game they have to go to Norman to play OU and that is pretty much an auto L

Yea they do.
Last year was their first year with their DC, and Tannehill was playing WR for like half the season. Both have had a year to settle in and take hold. They return 19 starters. They are a much better team than they were last year. IMHO.

Doak Campbell is not that intimidating of an environment anymore.

most intriguing match up of the week... I don't know how gameday isn't there... I think it's gonna be really close with Ok State out on top

A & M is more balanced on BOTH side of the ball. Okie St. Is more offensivebalanced. Its like can they OUTSCORE everybody. TOO bad they will play a D that MAY be able to stop them. BUT can OSU's D stop A & M???? Niether team is worth a NCG shot at this point.

No team is worthy after 2 or 3 games. if the winner of this game beats OU and runs the table I dont see who else would go over them after the SEC champion

i would rather A&M or OKST then boise

OK so why count the chickens before they hatch????

NIETHER team is gonna make ANY move toward the NC game. They WILL lose along the way. Just sayin.
