Other than everyone just hating on UT is there anything preventing this. I'm guessing the Longwhore Network. I really don't know, that's why I'm asking. So inform me.

The SEC is actually one of the few conferences that would allow the Longhorn network since schools are allowed to retain 3rd tier media rights. The SEC is the obvious geographical fit as well. The truth is that UT wants nothing to do with the SEC and the SEC wants nothing to do with Texas' inferiority complex.

The SEC wouldn't have a problem with Longhorn network, but Texas is too snooty and controlling to give in to the SEC's profit-sharing program. UT will be independent. Book it.

Texas' ego couldn't handle being the second team invited to the SEC from their great state.

Plus, TAMU wouldn't allow it either. They're leaving the big 12 predominately because of UT.

Nope. Unless they want to relegate their basketball and baseball programs to the MWC or CUSA, UT will be going to the Pac 12. Anyone with a brain sees the writing on the wall for 4 16 team conferences and a 4 team playoff. Texas and ND will hop on board.

So, the main thing preventing Texas to the SEC is Texas. Or perhaps the powers that be don't won't the headache they could present. Since A&M isn't SEC yet they probably have no control.

IMHO, neither side has much desire for Texas to be in the SEC.
But then again, money talks.
