This isn't a knock on Lee, but anyone who watched both of them can't possibly say Lee looks like a better qb. He simply knows the offense better, which Miles hinted at being the reason he was starting. Once Mett gets a bit more comfortable with the offense, I think we'll see him starting, and I see that happening within the next month or so.

Not so....
it is not just about knowing the offense, but about reading the defense.
Mett can overcome Northwestern, but he is not yet ready for the variations in D that AL, FL, etc., will throw at him. You can not substitute for experience.

Has Lee shown you an exceptional ability to read defenses? I haven't seen it. Look, I'm not saying Mett should start tomorrown night or anything. The job is Lee's, as it should be. But I wouldn't be surprised if Les mixes in Mett a little bit to show them some different looks and to see how he looks against an SEC defense. I think Les will continue to do that for the next few games as well. And at some point, if and when Mett shows he's ready in a month or so, he'll start.

Mett - Don't look left for 3-4 seconds and then throw left to your intended target (Boone) in the end zone !!! Worked this time. Boone caught it for a TD 1 yard from stepping out of bounds in the end zone. Beautiful pass. Beautiful play. NW State defender was 1 - 2 feet away from deflecting it (IMO). Replay this as many times as you like (if you are a non-believer). This pass works against AA competition. It may (or may not) work against better competition like the SEC!!!

Mett, keep it up. Great job. I'm not a LSU coach - LSU coachs please improve Mr. Mett's "looking off the defender". In other words, part of "experience" is looking right & throwing left. See "experience" discussed in the many posts above.

Nonetheless, I'm impressed so far with Lee and Mett. Yes, I am !!! Keep it up, guys !
