Past 2 meaningful games he's been garbage. Cant cover anyone in pass game and misses tackles constantly. Someone has to be seeing something in him that im not. If so, what is it?
Maybe giving Sharper a call this week wont hurt

They don't play the same position.

If not Sharper than someone

nobody was going to stop rodgers to finley on some of those passes. they were too perfect
and yea, he got burned 1 on 1 in the slot against a WR. most safeties will
let him do what he does best and he's a way above average player. put him in bad situations, he looks terrible

Before the last 2 games, Harper has been one of the best players on our defense.

Who do you - as a lay person - think is a better duo?
MJ FS / Harper SS
DS FS / MJ SS
?

Harper has to go been saying this for two seasons now

Jesus. Darren Sharper looked fricking horrible last year. Give it a rest. Yes, Harper sucked but so did everyone else on D. LBs constantly getting washed out, including Vilma. No dline penetration. DBs getting burned. Tackling was horrible. Everybody sucked.
What the Saints need to do is go trade for a LB because Herring might be worse than Shanle. If that is the best we have...then we're in for a long fricking season. That guy can't even get off a block. The LBs needed to be sitting on the bench because they were basically invisible this entire game.

Think of Harper as a glorified extra OLB. He's probably 15-20 pounds heavier than your average SS.
He absolutely THRIVES when he's able to move into the box and either a) blitz the QB or b) add support to the run defense.
On his best day, he's serviceable in coverage. On his worst day, he's a liability.
When he was able to come up tonight, he did well and even got a sack. Problem was, the Packers absolutely EXPOSED the low numbers in our secondary when he did this, so he was matched up 25 yards off the line with Green Bay's awesome WR's and their awesome, WR-like, pass-catching tight end.
The Seattle game was a completely different animal -- Jenkins was hurt, forcing the coaching staff to change Harper's duties around into a more uncomfortable position.
He's not a bad player; it's just part of the ongoing chess match that is football. Tonight, Mike McCarthy and the Packers' O beat Gregg Williams and the Saints' D. Simple as that.

Your entire front seven was being washed out, and you expect a safety to be a run defender when Rodgers is en fuego and hitting WRs at every level? He's not superman.

IMO Harper has been exposed! Dude is slow and looks awful in coverage! He does a good job when blitzing and I think that's what Williams likes. Man, I hope I'm wrong but I don't see him turning it around.

Harper is very overrated against the run. He got ran over last night as he usually does. Hopefully, Loomis doesn't let him play out this horrible contract just because Gregg Williams is buddies with Harper.

Did you actually type that? Quite sure Loomis & Williams know WTF they're doing. He's a pro bowler. He had an off game. The entire defense looked like shite.

Harper does not tackle well, and he is a huge liability in pass coverage. This was exposed 3 games ago, not 2 games ago.

take off the crimson glasses bruh. harper has been our worst defensive player in 2 awful defensive games now.
