OK, I thought it was the BCS points system, not winning your conference.... See Oklahoma 2003
Scenario 2011..... LSU beats up everyone as does Bama like 2003 Oklahoma did and both hailed as the best 2 teams. If they have a close game, it will happen because both will have tough strength of schedules, great records, and a close head to head with the winner being the creme of the crop for the whole College Football season. What will also help the voters keep the loser high is SEC and 5 straight. You would think they may pull the loser down too much in the polls to influence the computers, but they did not do that to OK.

exactly computers are a third of the polls. The only way people could "prevent" a rematch is by collectively pulling down the Bama-LSU loser far enough in both human polls so that they dont get to play against each other.
Remember Michigan/Ohio St. didn't happen because a 1-loss Florida was deemed to have a tougher schedule by the computers than Michigan. Also USC would have gotten in ahead of Florida AND Michigan if they did not lose to UCLA the last week of the season.
