On a more serious note, I don't think TT gets an invite unless they are part of some kind of bizarre deal. For instance, I don't think Texas wants any part of the SEC under any circumstances. To a great extent while OK may lead the path to a new conference, I think OK is tied to TX and will go to the PAC with them. If TX opts for the B1G, OK probably can't go there.

Without TX, it's dicy that the PAC will take OK with OSU, and TT is certainly out. OK wants to maintain a strong presence in TX and a package deal that includes the nonthreatening TT may get them to us. As I said bizzare..

i can't think of a worse place to go to a football game than lubbock, texas. not to mention the distance. i think very few sec fans would ever make that trek once and virtually zero would return. hell, half of the players parents might not return.

Tech sucks. Lubbock is a pit and Tech brings less to the table than Baylor. Yes, Baylor. The Bears are at least good at other sports and have won a conference title before in football, something Tech has never done since joining the SWC.

That's right -- Tech has never won an outright conference title in their entire history. They ASPIRE to be Baylor.

Tech is, quite literally, the least attractive school that gets seriously mentioned in expansion talks. They are in their golden era and still can't win. They suck at every other sport, too. Oh, and their academics suck.

I'd seriously prefer that the SEC add Rice. Rice is at least good at other sports and have graduates who can read.

It doesn't. Imagine a College Station that's harder to get to and smells like a tire fire. That's Lubbock.
