games? The NCAA can go eat a bag of dicks. This is some BS. With all the stuff out there, Camgate, Miami, and etc, that they haven't done shite about, they hammer shep for this?
I need Sept 3 to get here soon!

Has Shep's investigation been completed?

To be honest, Shep fricked himself. His living situation investigation was done. All he had to do was follow the rules and keep his mouth shut. Sucks for him and the team, but it's clearly a case of the dumbass in my opinion.

This has nothing to do with Shep being a dumbass or not. It has to do with consistsncy. RayRay Armstrong took $ and gifts at Miami and he gets a 4 game suspension. Shep gets a 6 games suspension for collaboration?
They ncaa needs to be more consistent.

You can't worry about what someone else got...largely because your opinion doesn't amount to a pile of shite.

They didn't ask Shep to move a mountain. They asked him not to say anything. Jesus Tittyfricking Christ. Kids can keep their mouths shut in school libraries. Shep decided he knew better and ended up fricking the team in the process.

Completely agree, this is some serious BS,
Shep talked to a fellow player, the thugs at the U had hookers and were talking to a felon and getting shite, seems they may have got these rulings reversed

The current penalties are from the reinstatement comittee. The players who are suspended took a few hundred dollars

quote:

Spence received about $275 in benefits, Ojomo $240, Benjamin more than $150 and Harris more than $140.

https://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/6909795/eight-miami-hurricanes-serve-suspenions-repayments

This is just the penalty for the stuff done by these specific players (not everything Miami has done). The infractions committee hasn't laid down their punishment yet. They will look at the grand scheme of things and hammer Miami for all the shite that has happened in the past.

Also the reason Shep is getting more games is that (in the NCAA's opinion) he interfered with an investigation. It is the same reason the tOSU shite is bigger than the actual infraction was. The NCAA doesn't like people to undermine them and so if you tamper with an investigation they are going to grossly increase any suspension.

bconne1, I think all of us can appreciate the tremendous wisdom of your opinion --- that for example the opinions of others don't amount to a "pile of shite" . . . comparing spastic, questionably legal gag orders with kids not disturbing others in a library. Jesus Tittyfricking Christ, that is truly Shakespearian stuff.

Additionally the logic of your view laying out comparative fairness of the NCAA's imposed gag order on an innocent college kid and subsequent penalty enacted when he discussed matters with family, vs money, sex, and criminal issues involving Miami is just impeccable. Wonderful stuff. Brilliant.

Thanks for providing your point of view.

This is my whole issue. Why did they say anything to Shep in the first place? If you want something to stay a secret you don't run and tell a 20 year old about it for crying out loud. It's almost like it was a set up.

"Hey Shep....can you keep a secret about your teammates?" Give me a freaking break

You're welcome.

Still, Shep dicked the team not by dropping a game-winning TD or getting convicted of murder. He compromised an investigation. He couldn't keep his mouth shut.

Sad, but true.

And look, I'm not saying I wouldn't have done the same thing. All I'm saying is that it's a stupid thing to do when you know what's on the line, and now we're down one of our most dynamic players.

That fact and Cambodian citizenship under Pol Pot would lead to consequences. This isn't Cambodia.

By speaking with others regarding an upcoming investigation, Shep possibly compromised it. Like a jury or witnesses being sequestered, you want to keep the investigation sterile. People speaking to each other, getting stories straight, etc. can potentially muddy the waters.

Shep, effectively a ward of the NCAA, decided not to follow their rules. Now we all get to pay the price.

And in regards to the Pol Pot statement, you're right. Killing millions for having opposing political views and asking a guy to pay for his mistake is completely different.

I've seen no link that says Shep is suspended for 6 games. Further, Shep was declared ineligible by LSU. Its up to the NCAA to declare him eligible.

I'm sure we can find someone to handle his 3 end arounds and 2 receptions...
