So LSU is ruling him ineligible currently? Technically he could play but that would obviously be a huge gamble?

The bottom line is we're stuck waiting on the NCAA to investigate and if there is an actual ruling he could miss more games?

Yes, they could rule him ineligble permanently. The NCAA doesn't necessarily hand down suspensions, but the longer they wait, and the school sits a player out, it acts as a suspension.
