So let me get this straight, the University of Oregon is being investigated because of serious allegations regarding a "street agent" from Houston, Texas. The central athlete of the investigation recently transferred from UO to Baylor and is now petitioning the NCAA to allow him to play this year for the Bears. A secondary (involved) athlete who came in third in voting in last year's "Heisman race", plead guilty to physical harassment charges last year and is currently under probation in Lane County, Oregon. It is not a secret that although he played football at Liberty-Eylau High School, Bowie County, Texas, he failed a mandatory test(Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills) which all Texas High School students must pass in order to actually graduate high school. In fact he failed the test multiple times. With assistance of a certain "street agent" and with the approval of representatives of the University of Oregon, he transferred to Arkansas High School located in Miller County,Arkansas after his final game for Liberty-Eylau High. Such academic assessment tests (TAKS)were and are not mandated for graduation in Arkansas. This athlete is scheduled to dress up in his "costume" for this weekend's contest in Dallas.
A highly regarded athlete attending LSU is suspended from playing football this weekend and possible more weekends because he mentioned to a teammate that he had been interviewed about possible involvement with the aforementioned street agent. He was interviewed because he had participated in multiple "seven on seven" events in Texas (when he was still in high school) and he happened to graduate from a Houston area high school. The "street agent" is also from Houston, Texas. By the way the LSU athlete passed the TAKS test. In fact he graduated from Cypress Ridge High School, (Harris County, Texas) early.

TAKS
Went to Texas public school K-18, and seriously, the TAKS is almost criminally easy. I wasn't even in the top 5% of my graduating class and I think I missed like 6 or 7 questions on a TAKS test the entire time I was in school. And you take 3 or 4 of them/year from 3rd grade until you graduate.
I have family that works in special ed development, and if this kid had this much trouble passing TAKS he might qualify.

good post.
tl;dr an Oregon player with direct ties to Willie Lyles and came to Oregon via super shady dealings not suspended, but an LSU players with no ties at all is suspended for mentioning that the NCAA was simply gonna ask him about Mr. Lyles.

I agree, Shep should not be held out for a long time for his talking, now even Miami is tring to get their players back and they took cash, gifts, etc.
