I've watched the games. Cali threw out their best pitcher to win the US Championship over Montana. USA teams that do that usually stink in the final.

You need to save your best pitcher for the Japs who are far and away the best team every year. Half their team can pitch well; they crowd the plate, force you into mistakes and score before you know it.

Japan will win it with about 6 runs in the first two innings. Cali didn't need to waste their pitcher on Montana.

Cali's pitcher in the US Final is prob their third best pitcher. The kid that threw today to beat Japan is their "Ace". The kid that beat Montana yesterday is the same one who lost to them 0-1 earlier in the week, but, struckout 10.

Cali wont shed any tears about the way the Tourney is set up. They went undefeated in the West Regional. No Cal played them in the Final despite their loss to them in pool play. If No Cal had won the final, No Cal would have moved on. So Cal won that game in the last inning.

One of my Nephews played on this same team from Hunting Beach last year which lost to Hawaii in the West Final. My other nephew this year just missed making their all star team :(
