Maybe JJ had the foresight to buy a bunch of donuts for the police, and the bags are just the extra ones that they're bringing back to the station for their fellow officers.

seeing just how much "evidence" they are taking pisses me off even more. IT's a bar fight!!!!!!
The only semi logical explanation is that they took every pair of shoes JJ had in his apartment to test for DNA. With the school's association with Nike, the players are privy (sp?) to a lot of gear, including shoes. Still, that would be a ton of shoes for one guy.
