I know it looks sketchy and you will probably call BS, but we would have hired him regardless of his son's decision. He's a local coaching legend and has big time connections with the AAU circuit in Texas. He would be a great hire even if J Mike had gone elsewhere, and he had been pursued by several schools to be an assistant, even schools who weren't recruiting J Mike.

I know, just looking to talk crap before the announcement. He'll be a good addition to the staff, just looks like bad timing.

He turned down the job months ago to not have an effect on where J-Mych chose to play. A month or so after the J-Mych commitment he accepted the job and will have to miss coaching his son for his Sr yr of HS.

But, I wouldn't have minded if it had gone the other way around
