Is there any news on Russell Shepard

With all the talk about the fight and who might be suspended or not, Shepard's eligibility for the game has not been discussed much lately. Is there any news on whether he will be cleared to play?
If not, and with Landry possibly out, who are the top 4 receivers?
I personally think losing Shepard is worse than losing JJ.

If he's held out of games to avoid having to forfeit games he plays in, I don't think we miss him much, because he only touches the ball 2-3 times a game anyway.

I realize we have other receivers that can catch passes. I guess my thought is that Shepard is the second receiver starting receiver.
How much of a drop of is there between him and Wright?
Also, the fact that he didn't get many touches a game last year changes this year. He was the third receiver last year. He wasn't typically in the game when we were only using two receivers.
