I wouldn't get too excited just yet. SF sucks, they just met their coach 2 weeks ago. They should rename the team the Sieves.

The Texans, who have a very good O, will be a much better test for sorting out the contenders vs. the pretenders among our DT's.

not excited, just sayin those guys look better than what they have had in previous years. I know Rogers and Elliis are the starters backed by Franklin, but one of these guys will make the team and the other prob goes to practice squad. I was impressed with King and Johnson's hustle to the ball!

make no mistake Rogers and Ellis are the starters and Franklin will be the first off the bench in rotation as Meateye just mentioned! So, in a sense, yes, he is a backup!

Franklin is our best run defender he and Rogers may be in on first downs.... Johnson will be in most of the passing downs!

Did anyone notice if they ran some 5 sets with the starters?

"Being a starter" only means that you're in on the 1st play of the game. Depending on what happens on that play determines who's in next. This may not apply to the O-line as much.

I think that Ellis, Rogers, and Franklin will see around the same number of snaps. Ellis and Franklin play their respective spots well, while Rogers is the most versatile. Remember that we signed Johnson to a 3 year deal, so don't underestimate how many snaps he sees. With Smith and Jordan on the outside, I think our DLine is the strong suit of our team this year with the injuries plaguing our secondary.

I watched Mitch King in college and was always impressed. Hopefully he will add some great depth. The guy has a great motor!

I agree but Johnson's speed and pursuit was very impressive.

The Dline has me very excited about our chances this year. Having a deep Line full of big, fast guys who can get after the QB is a huge recipe for success. So many have been clamoring for more OLBers in FA, but a deep line will make our present LBers (especially if Casillas is the real deal) play at a different level.

This team will not be ranked 28th in Def against the run like last year.

Could be in top 8 if LB's plays well.
