D-mitch played pt that yr pal, but yes, unfortunately we had to run Temple at 1 sometimes. Good defender, terrible shooter imo. I think you got the point though.
No, Temple played the point that year. Mitchell played the 2 almost exclusively after his freshman year. Now, they did switch off defensively quite often when the opposing team had a big 2.

I guess you could say that
Considering that he played PG in the NBA, I'm not the only one saying it.

What are these rumors about Isaac leaving?
Posted on 5/10/12 at 10:01 am to tigers32
Rumors of academic problems. Not verified.

Bubba, ESPN says Tyler Ennis, a 6'2' pg from New Jersey has a recent offer from LSU for 2013. See the second bullet point in the article.

Yes, I saw that. I need to add him to the 2013 thread. He's from Canada.

I meant the fact that D-Mitch brought the ball up a ton that final 4 year. once they got in the half court sets though Temple was the PG. Defensively Temple was always on the other squad's best guard/SF

My point was 6'8" isn't a big deal. You guys can type who you think the pg was all day if it makes you feel good.

There's no thinking. Temple was the point guard. I wasn't trying to argue, but it's the truth.

Good deal, Jester. It had nothing to do with my point though. Let's just hope we can get one of these big guys in here, and if not let's remember that having a bunch of 6'5" to 6'8" guys can work.

They were really interchangeable parts. Temple was more point guard to me though at 6'6" he guarded the the opponents best wing player. Mitchell was more of a combo guard/shooter and guarded the pg position. Assists are a pg stat. Who led the team? My guess is Temple.

No doubt. It's more about the players fitting the system. Some coaches can make a system fit the players. Others are good at building a roster for the system. TJ seemed terrible at both. JJ seems to be starting out getting talent first. Seems like he may be more inclined to fit the system to the players until he has more time to build the roster.
Temple and Mitchell worked out great. I've said this before many times. The problem with TJ's lineups was that both guards were very small. Mitchell was small, but more athletic, and he had a big point in Temple to help with length in the backcourt. That said, our size problems in the backcourt have basically been reversed in 1 month. I'm excited to see this team play.

Who had more assists
Hmmm...
DMitch 160 (4.4/ game) to Temple 99 (2.8 /game) Again, this wasn't the POINT! this is a recruiting board. I was speaking how size and how 6'8" shouldn't be an issue. Yes, they both played 1, I don't care who you guys want to call the point, but DMitch was announced as the 1 guard/pt guard, typically brought up the ball, and led the team in assists by a lot!

Jester, hopefully we can make it work with Hixkey and our bigger guards. I don't anticipate a lot of time for Stringer next yr. I like the bigger guards he's getting. It would be nice to get a 5 so Johhny can play the 4 as he wishes to do.

I expect Stringer to be the backup PG, and designated 3-point shooter off the bench. Play, perhaps, 12 minutes per game.

Illake that, Bubba. That's about what I'd imagine as well. He won't be playing 30 plus for sure.
Posted on 5/11/12 at 11:38 am to Trent
And if that is true, I wouldn't expect him to return for the following year.

Where would he go? I dont think he is good enough to walk into any program as a senior and get 30 plus minutes either.
