Not if, when.
They better if they beat the #3 team in the land.

I don't think we will be #1 unless Bama is undefeated when we play them. Thats when we take over the # 1 spot.

they will be #3 oklahoma & bama got a lot of votes for 1st compared to lsu & oregon. lsu will get oregons 1st place votes and a few of bamas or oaklahomas if they are impressive.

If we are undefeated after the Bama game, then that's when we get the ranking.
I really don't want it till than anyway. It's too much of a bullseye.

I like being #2 until the final poll.

We'll be 3 but we will narrow the gap. OU is going to lose. They aren't that good and overhyped. I'm hoping that LSU and Bama play as 1 and 2. Greatest regular season SEC game ever.

No,id rather stay back and be 2 or 3 all year anyways. Doesn't really matter what were ranked as long as were number 1 in the end

Prediction: Many voters change votes after first CF weekend. The winner of UO/LSU WILL be ranked #1. However if Choklahoma beats FSU the following week they will bump UO/LSU winner for the #1 ranking.

LSU/Oregon winner will not leapfrog Alabama and Oklahoma. Don't be stupid.

I easily bet they do, as so do most of the sports writers(the ones that vote) as they have went on record saying they are going to vote the winner of this game #1. And any guy knows the AP poll sets the tone for the other polls as it always comes out first(except preseason poll).

Take it easy. Every team in the top 10 has an easier schedule than Lsu. Our team
Is amazing but our schedule will keep us out of the bcs title game.

Post a link to their "on the record comments". I would like to read that article.

I don't have a link off hand and I don't feel like wasting tons of time trying to find them either. I could care less if you believe or not.
But you have to understand something. A preseason poll is meaningless. No one has seen them play and it was not earned. Past history shows us the polls can change much after the first weekend of Football. And I have indeed read many sports writers when speaking of this game(who are AP voters) say whoever wins this game will most likely be voted #1 after it. To me its all a moot point because I think the winner of the the 2nd week hot game OU/FSU might easily bump the UO/LSU winner. While I would not bet money on the UO/LSU game, I would easily bet money on the winner of such being ranked #1 after, if only for one week. And while the AP poll was not the first pre-season poll to come out, it always is the first to come out when the season starts. And while not counting with the BCS formula, it always sets the tone and the coaches use it as a gauge. Plus the Harris poll has many sports writers as well in it.

Sounds like you just like hearing yourself talk. Guess we will see how correct you are in a few weeks.

Nope

When Tulsa beats OU on the 3rd, we will move to #2.

LSU will never beat the Ducks! Never! They can't win over our 2nd Unit

I don't see why not. If you beat the #3 team in the country the first week while the others play cupcakes I don't see why they would stay. But like someone else said if Oklahoma beats FSU then I think they take it back.

If we blow them out maybe, if not, not likely
