People want Tyrann Mathieu on the field

He wouldn't be on the field in a base 4-3

Not really.

4-2-5, in the sense that it's talked about in college football, means running with a 3rd safety.

A nickel is a 3rd corner.

Two totally different things.

Well that would be perfect for us because Hatcher can switch back and forth from a Safety position to LB and that will probably confuse opposing defenses.

I wouldn't mind Hatcher in a role where he doesn't have to worry about coverage and can just blow people up.

Which it might confuse Offenses, I seriously don't think this will be the case at all.. With Taylor, Loston, Reid, Vinson the Safety position is pretty well taken care of bud...

In a perfect world maybe but it's a fact that if your anywhere behind the line you have to be able to cover at least a little bit because they will pick on you, see Danny McCray!

My post was kind of a hyperbole

He knows how to cover.. the angles he takes is what kills him.

He's probably be one of the best linebackers in coverage.

I would leave hatcher at LB, I wasnt to impress with him at Safety. Especially when he is part of the reason we lost to Ole Miss last year, taking his own teammate Claiborne out on the LAST play before halftime

Most people here must not have watched the first half of the season when Hatcher was playing decent at safety people always remember the last few games and forget about most of the season...

People have very short memories. He was alright but he killed us against Ole Miss and Arkansas.

Not saying he didn't at all because believe me I saw it myself, I just think that people are underestimating the fact that he will be a much better LB'er than Safety and believe it or not he will be a big piece of how successful this defense is this year!! Alot will depend on his play especially playing in the middle...

I'll take this front four

DE Kiki
DT Freak
DT Brockers
DE Sam

Then keep the best LB on the field

LB Baker

Then drop Loston down as a rover instead of having a true LB in the box. Getting these 6 players on the field at the same time is key. 6 of the most talented football players on the entire team, hands down.

RVR Pappa
NB TM7
CB MoC
CB Simon
FS ER1
SS BT15

Then I say good luck Duck!

isnt this the guy who TWICE took the aggressive routes to Arky WRs and gave Ark the win, including one with 6 seconds left in the half, where just stopping the guy at the 50 would have paid off, but NO!! he missed and the guy scored?!! and the other time he knocked out his own teammate DB and the WR went down the middle for the TD?

When I first saw the 4-2-5 at the subject line of this thread, I was hoping that means Hatcher is not going to be on the field, at all. In my view of the LSU season, as we approach Oregon, I have had Hatcher on the bench and run a 4-2-5 vs Oregon
and also the Chicago Bears 46 defense with the safety up where he can blitz.

true, but which is better, mo, simon, and t-rex or

Reid, Loston, and Taylor?....

reid and loston can lay the wood and taylor excels at stopping the run...

i like both, but the main three i like is t-rex, reid and loston, i want to see them on the field as much as possible...

shite, thats one sick defense right there...i think loston could do it....if it gets TM7, loston, and reid on the field, i love it...
