AT I have the year written down some where, but every year even in the early 1900's the teams would meet at the Istrouma hotel and the coach would hand out the L's to the starters.

Col Boyd was always at these meetings and always gave a nice speech.

By today's rules all the members of the early teams would have won the L, for the most part.

It's was the big event in Baton Rouge in those days, and the L dances is one outcome of the early banquets’.

L dance cards come up all the time and I have seen one on ebay form around 1915.
