I have the chance to buy a Swarovski Habicht 3-12X50 scope for around $750. I'm not sure how old it is (it's not new) and I don't know what type of reticile it has yet. I have very limited knowledge about high-end scopes, but you guys always talk about the importance of investing in good optics. Is this a good deal? What questions should I ask. I'm really nervous spending that kind of cheese on a scope. What say you?

Would you drop $750 on it though?

What he said.
They are the top of the line. At that price for that scope, I'd have to see that it wasn't rattling or something, but yeah, I'd trust Swarovski.
Also I'd want to see if it would fog.

Do they have a transferrable lifetime warranty?

“Any SWAROVSKI OPTIK product that is purchased in the U.S. that is not imported by SWAROVSKI
OPTIK North America and not sold to a consumer by an Authorized U.S. SWAROVSKI OPTIK North
America Dealer has no Authorized Warranty.”
This is on their website.

I would check around at a few gun stores and ebay to see what the real value of it is. That way if you decide after a few months that you don't like it, then you can sell it and get your money back out of it. If you can get more than what you paid, then it would be a win/win situation.
