I went back through the history and LSU should have at least 50 or so more wins....they let a lot of games get away!

Just saying!

I could find 50 that we shouldn't have won, so it all evens out in the long run

That's what makes sports what they are. In the long run there is really no such thing as should have.

Kinda like Yoda said "Do or do not. There is no try."

There are 7 DEFINITES in the Saban/Miles era alone that we should have won:

2000 UAB
2002 Arkansas
2005 Tennessee
2007 Kentucky and Arkansas
2008 Arkansas
2009 Penn State

Maybes that we possibly could have won:
2001 Ole Miss
2004 Auburn
2006 Auburn
2008 Alabama
2009 Ole Miss
2010 Arkansas

Then again, LSU has WON some close ones as well:
2002 Kentucky, Ole Miss
2005 Florida, Auburn
2007 Alabama, Auburn
2009 Miss.State, Arkansas
2010 Alabama, Florida, Tennessee

Yeah brah, I went through last season's schedule and there's at least two games we had no business winning but somehow lucked out and pulled it out like a Mad Hatter at the end of the game.

The ball bounces both ways.

Just saying, brah...

Maybe the Tennessee game was luck because of Dooley running 14 Vol players into the game.

But how to you figure Florida and Alabama as "pulled out like a Mad Hatter"?
Our offense put together game winning drives near the end. Why didn't Bama and Fla. stop us ????

Did you miss the fake field goal in the Florida game where the ball literally bounced our way as the kicker ran for his life to get a first down?

Lesticles' gonads grew exponentially that day.

We won a lot of close games last year. Florida and Tennessee were too games where the ball could have easily bounced the other way. I'm sure Les just happened to know he could count on Dooley's stupidity giving us one more down. I'm sure he know for sure a fake field goal against Florida would bounce our way.

The OP conveniently counts all the wins that should've been while ignoring all the losses that also could've been if not for a few lucky bounces here and there.

If it happens once or twice, then it's luck. If this crap that CLM pulls works consistently, then you have to start calling it good play calling, skill, and big balls. No one gets lucky that many times.

pdx,
I listed the close LSU wins in my post about 6 posts above this one, just fyi....- see last PP in that post
I don't necessarily agree with you though, that ""AAALLLL"" of those could have been losses.
e.g. the 2007 Florida game. Les went for it against Florida on 4th down at least twice, and made it every time.
That's not a lucky bounce or pulling it out of a mad hat IMO, but skill and stragegy that was executed well....

In the last decade, I can think of more games we 'shouldve lost' than games we 'shoulve won'.

Exactly. LSU could have just as easily lost six of the games it won last season. Football's a game of inches though; every big program wins and loses close games each year.

we got away with poor execution, but the call was there easily...certainly different than the Tenn game. Alabama shouldn't be in the discussion, LSU was up by 10 in the fourth quarter, no real luck involved in that game.
