ve read and heard from several people who say that what makes Dana so good is how he calls a game...hes a mastermind at calling certain play at certain times...
I know a guy who works at a school that WVU will play this year...he had to break down several of Ok State's games last year, and he said its unbelievable at how good Dana calls a game...
His offense as a whole is pretty dynamic...and yes, Dana will call the plays this year...
Dana definitely has an uncanny ability to deduce a defense’s tactics are adjust his playcalling accordingly. However, it’s not only the feel of his playcalling, it’s his offenses flexibility. With just minor tweaks he can take a formation run at a typical down and distance against a cover 2 shell and attack a cover 3 with it.
He also loves packaging multiple coverage beaters into his playcalls, essentially allowing him to cut the QB’s field in half. He’s got videos of him breakdown playcalls and chalkboard sessions and turning an entire defense’s coverage into a simple QB read of one single defender. Like his philosophy of installing his offense in 3 days would imply, he’s all about Keep It Simple Stupid and Execution trumps Complication.
