Loston has a A LOT to improve on. Reid was ahead of him in his first year in the program. If he doesn't improve this year, LSU might move him to LB. Especially if we land Collins in this upcoming class who will likely see the field instantly in at least a rotation.

Reid was a more complete player coming out of HS because he had a former LSU Player & a guy that is an outstanding up-and-coming high school coach in Carrier helping teach him how the play the game and proper technique.

He came needing only to get up to speed with scheme. Not fundamnetals.

Loston played raw, and he had to make up ground on both points, along with overcome injuries.

But, Loston's ability in coverage and run support are supreme. Again, no sleight to Reid, but Reid received top-flight coaching in HS, and Loston did not.

Just an FYI, Collins was at Dutchtown with Reid & Carrier for the first two years of his career, as well. Carrier's at Zachary HS now, I believe, and not doubting Collins' ability or play one bit, but coaching makes a difference, especially early.

Just trying to bring some context to the discussion.
