Not true at all. Purely depends on maintenance. If kept out of the weather and clean, no telling how long one could last.

Of course, if he grills 4 times a week...

I agree here. I bought a Charbroil 4 burner bottem line grill 3 years ago. Paid $100 and it still doing fine. Need to replace the burners this summer, but I have cooked a ton of stuff in those 3 years.
