I don't have him on any teams so I'm not on top of it, but isn't Josh Johnson out for a good while?

I like the Tex and Greinke side. But I am not a JJ fan bc of health issues. If you knew JJ were going to be healthy ROS then it might be a different story.

Yeah, I am a huge fan of JJ and Holliday, so that biases my opinion. The whole deal hinges on the health of JJ because if he is healthy, then he is literally as good as anyone in baseball. Holliday is a better OBP player and puts up good numbers, but Tex gives you raw power that is hard to compete with. It really depends on your needs, but this is a fair trade and I would go with JJ and Holliday solely because of my infatuation with Josh Johnson.

Yep. First rehab start on July 1st, and he should come back and pitch against my Cubs on the 16th, which is his first day eligible off the 60 day DL.

Tex and Greinke by a decent bit imo. Greinke is poised for a huge 2nd half. He's on a better team than JJ and doesn't have a shoulder issue. Holliday has also had some injury issues this year. Tex has a much better offense around him while Holliday is without Pujols for over a month.

Yeah, I'm a big fan as well, but I figure Greinke isn't a huge step down.

I got Holliday mainly for his average, but Tex post June is a career .300 hitter, so there is some drop off, but that's matched by Tex's crazy power.
He needs a quality OF and a stud pitcher and I need a better CI option (and I have a surplus of OF), so that was my thought.

Then, it looks like you made a good deal based on your needs. This trade is the type of trade that could improve both teams, so you should be happy with this deal.

Based on the responses of every person here, I would not get your hopes up.
I probably would not take in a keeper because JJ could have injury problems.

If you wouldn't take him in a keeper league then there is no reason to take him in a season league. There is no guarantee he makes that scheduled rehab start either

No, there is no gurantee he is pitching lights out again on July 16th, but I would be willing to gamble this year. In the future, he may have more injuries, thus a higher risk. However, I will continue to draft/buy him because I only play season, not dynasty, leagues. I know I am just waiting for the dynamite to blow, but his spectactular ERA and WHIP are borderline untouchable, so he is worth a short-run risk to me.

There are plenty players I would take in a season, not keeper and keeper, not season (for 2011 of course).
Paul Konerko and Mariano Rivera for the former vs. Eric Hosmer and Dustin Ackley for the latter.
You get the point, but Johnson is different from Konerko and Rivera because he still has many years ahead of him. However, he could be perenially injured, so we don't know if he has 10 days, 10 months, or 10 years left of dominant pitching.

Tex and Greinke..... Teixeira always has been a second half player and is putting up great numbers except in average and also hits in the middle of the best lineup in baseball, Greinke is always going to be a good source of W ( brewers offense can rake ) and strikeouts
