Very few people (and for all I know you are one of them, and this concept is foreign to you - and I'm being serious there - not a casty or cheap shot) achieve, to their greatest potential, without that.

That support comes from family and friends not 90,000 fans who don't know you other than the uniform they see on tv. He is there to produce not be coddled. It's nothing personal it's just how I feel about any athlete. It's not for everyone that's why so few can do it and they are not "kids" although we seem to classify them as such.

We'll have to agree to disagree......

At 21 (I think that's how old he'll be - may even be 20), what got said on message boards, espicially if it was relentless, etc, would have mattered to me, I think. I think it could have had an effect on my performance (although I do agree with you that it shouldn't be the determining factor - just A factor). I understand that playing QB for a top 5 team in the SEC comes with pressure, and he's got to deal.

Also, don't confuse coddling w/support. Coddling is what I do to my daughter when things don't go her way.

I'm not suggesting multiple verses of kumbaya singings after a misread/pic - just some trust in the coaches that he is our best chance to win, and if he is, let's support him.....who knows, it may help the young man out.
