Former Michigan coach Rich Rodriguez has taken a broadcasting job with CBS Sports.

The network announced Tuesday that Rodriguez will be a game and studio analyst for the upcoming season. He will team with play-by-play announcer Dave Ryan and also be part of CBS' weekly studio show. He was a guest analyst for CBS during its national signing day coverage in February.

I thought he was already doing this. He had to interview Hoke about getting the Michigan job.

He will cry at some point on live television.

Same thing as TT..he'll do it for a year and get a nice gig next year. Someone will want him. Maybe not one of the Michigan's, LSU's, but he'll get a shot.

Well, we know that's not going to happen, they already have a new coach, and I doubt WV really wanted him back anyway- he burned his bridges with WV...

Leaving WVU was stupid in light of the team he had. A team that was recruited for his style of game. Also a team that had the specific ability to carry it out on the field. So he gets stupid and goes to Big 10 - a conference much unlike the one he had at WVU. He then tried to force his style on players who could never, ever play the style of ball WVU did.

Yes, if he wants a HC job, I think he's going to be primed for it after a year of penance at CBS. And I wouldn't rule him out of any conference, except maybe the Big Ten. If he's learned something from his WVU departure and Michigan melt-down, I think some ACC, SEC, Big East, and maybe Mid-America teams would be glad to hire him.

No. The SEC will not consider him - he is too flighty - not going to stick with anyone, if ONE thing goes amiss. A good coach perhaps - but only a good offensive coach. I live close to Penn State but, Jo Pa cannot be effective in Some other conferences. I doubt JoPa would do well in the SEC, the WAC, or MTN WEST. I love the Big Ten but it is too slow and too unable to recruit to quicker brands of football. The SEC is tough, quick, and uses a QB to run, pass and shoot. Geaux LSU
