I know you recently hired a new coordinator, so there should be some hiccups in your offense when you move to a new scheme.

Your entire post is filled with fallacies, but this might be the worst.

Our defense is equivalent to the Auburn defense ya'll faced, and with more (albeit unproven) talent.

our defense is a hell of a lot better than auburns

If the OP was a rational person I think this would worry him a bit. How could a passing game not improve over the shitty output we saw last year? It has to improve. It can't get worse, for sure.

Not a huge deal.

Big deal.

We return 4 of 5 starters. This will be the best LSU oline since 2007, which means you're in trouble.

You guys were decent at running the ball

We were better than decent. You look at the stats and you might think that. But the fact is that nobody really stopped our running game last year except for maybe Auburn with their great dline.

After watching your spring game, it still seems like a common theme with all 3 of your QBs.

Really? JJ looked a lot better, especially in the first half. Mett throw a long TD bomb that was probably a better pass than any QB on your roster can throw.

He really hasn't gotten all that many opportunities to shine. He's still just a wildcard, and doesn't get me any more excited than several other LSU RBs. That's all I'm saying.

When it comes to listing players on the roster who are reasons why LSU will be awesome this year, I don't think he makes my top 15.

Ware looked solid everytime he stepped on the field last year. The Cotton Bowl was just his breakout game. If he's not in your top 15 or even top 10 reasons to be excited about the season then you lack the skill of evaluating good running backs. I understand the skepticism with the things have worked out in the past with former running backs, for example Justin Vincent, but Ware has been hyped since he came to LSU and he stepped on the field in the bowl game and showed why. Also he proved even more how good of an athlete he is on the baseball field this spring.

Even though Oregon is breaking in a few new defensive players, we may not have to play stellar to slow your offense down.

Okay not being rude just being honest. Offense we all know is your strong point, defense is your weaker side of the field. Our offense goes against top rated defenses week in and week out in the SEC. The Oregon fan base may be showing that their greatest weakness in this game is over looking our offense. I am not saying LSU has an explosive offense but they may appear better than you think going against a defense that is not as strong as what LSU is used to playing against.

I admit that RBs aren't really my specialty, and that I do tend to focus on other things. On the other hand, I did have the good sense to oppose that awful "Scott for Heisman" bandwagon in 2008.

And I'm not saying that Ware isn't one of the best 15 players on the team. I'm just saying that I'm not worried about our needs at RB, and that I don't think any one particular RB adds much at the margins from any of our other RBs.

I think Brandon Taylor's a real good player too, but the makeup of the team just indicates that we don't really need him that much. It's just the way it goes.

If all you're telling me is that Ware is already better than Justin Vincent, Alley Broussard, Rondell Mealey, Charles Scott, et. al., then I will likely agree with you.

If you say that he's already as good as Kevin Faulk, Cecil Collins, Domanick Davis, and Joseph Addai--or even Jacob Hester, Keiland Williams, LaBrandon Toefield, Stevan Ridley, et. al., then I am highly skeptical. Let him prove it on the field against someone other than TAMU first. When he does, then I'll embrace him with open arms.

Right now, I just lump Ford, Ware, Blue, Gore, Hilliard, etc. into one big lump. I'm just not worried about who ends up being better than the others.

Does that mean that I'm spoiled by all the good RBs we've had at LSU? Probably so, but that should probably just go with the territory around here.

JJ still looked like 10lbs of shite in a 5lb bag during the spring game. He locked onto his primary receiver, held the ball too long, his pocket awareness was awful, and he still was inaccurate on several throws.

He had a nice throw to Fobbs on the sideline; it had nice touch and it was on the money. However, this was only ONE throw. His running ability was the only thing I would commend about his spring game performance.

We all hope a LOT, but don't really know. I think if JJ starts most of the season I don't see much improvement.

It's amazing how uninformed our fsn base can be at times.

Much of the time, they have the stat, but doesn't fit their agenda.
I know our pass O isn't a world beater, but I'm not ignorant enough to think it has to be to win championships.
I post the Bama '09 pass O to end those threads. Sheep don't wanna hear that shite.
