I don't remember Faulk backing off. He wasn't committed anywhere when Dinardo was hired, and he committed to LSU some time after that.

The coach had followed him starting when Kevin was in the 9th grade. It was known that LSU had the upper hand. It wasn't till the staff change that the feeding frenzy hit. If you ever talk with Kevin, ask him about the coach that called him "Hoss."
