it was a hard descision, but i only got to hunt 4 times there last year. dont have time or the body anymore for work days. its an hour drive from home and i now work an hour from home in the opposite direction. :(

all that being said, I am up for some guest trips or a few guided hunts this year. any of you swamp walkers offer guided hunts?

Worst decision you ever made. Just saying.

At least it's a place to hunt. Workdays suck but it's worth it for sure. If you can afford it, you should keep it.

Don't feel bad, I have a lease I've never been to more than once a year.

it was hard no doubt. i went on 3 hunts on a WMA and saw more deer in 2 hunts than I did at the club in 4. Even missed a spike with my bow.

I can afford it but I dont see myself driving 2 hours from work to the camp very often.
no place to sleep there. its just a patch of woods so to speak.

Yeah, that sucks. Got to have a camp. That's part of going to the woods!

Not sure where you are but there are Reserves that could fit the bill here.

So where is this place that may now be looking for a member?

Dude, this guy is torn over a decision to get out of a hunting club, why ask that? There are hunting clubs everywhere that have openings.

Maybe I'm wrong here and if so, I apologize in advance but I liken that to showing up in Joplin today and being excited to be able to cut firewood.

Exactly my point. No laughing matter at all- I was serious.

Losing a hunting club membership isn't as bad as loss of life but the principle of taking advantage of a situation in which another is in a crisis...

Sensei,

I know what you are going through. I did that last year, but for a different reason. I still filled my tags.

At times during the season, I felt like I made a huge mistake. But, I know it was the right choice.
