In a CNN interview, the Angola Warden said that they are shooting all animals in the flooded areas---except the alligators. He said that the animals (beavers, muskrats, snakes, etc.) get in the way of sandbagging activities, but the gators are important as a deterrent to inmates trying to escape. The Warden went on to say that Angola has a reputation to maintain---that if the guards don't get you the gators will.
Incidently---some inmates are helping with the sandbagging.

Hard to focus on your escape when you're up to your arse in gators. Ha.

That man's past and present actions have allowed me to look past the ridiculousness of his first name.

i have family that works there....they used to allow hunting in angola for some of the employees, but someone once shot an alligator that hung out in this one area, and from then on, the warden wouldn't let anyone hunt

he is very partial to them

or something along those lines

Not sayin he is full of shite, but my brother was sent to help guard Angola this past week due to the flooding and they were told to shoot the gators, they were too close to the cattle.

Anyone hear how much water the prison got? Is it "flooded"?
