It's a lot harder when A) they haven't been through this in a long while B) their habitat has been significantly changed by barbed wire, dams, roads, etc.
But I'm sure most will preserve.

Wild animals have a way of surviving. I remember hearing that the number of wild animals killed in the tsunami(Indian ocean) was almost 0%. Survival of the fittest I guess.
