Sounds like this is the reason it needs a makeover.

If it's been seasoned once, probably just frying something in it, in grease, would work.
I know this is not what you're asking about but I was shocked to find them in Mamou, seasoned, for only $5.00 more.

Only guy I know lives in P'ville off 42 near 44. He did a real good job on a couple of pots of mine, one which needed some serious reconditioning too. Wish I could help.

I was in Mamou a couple weeks ago and that little seafood place had a sign for spotted catfish, but they were closed. Do they always have that or do you know where I could find some in the area?

There's one in Ville Platte. I think a Darbonne owns it. If you call ahead and ask them to hold it you probably can. They sell it at the same price as blue cat so yeah, it goes fast.

It was a little place on South St right off 13, I'm going to check into the Darbonne place too.

This is the Seafood Market you are talking about https://bandlseafood.com/
I don't know if you're going to find many places that will season cast iron for you. If you can't make the trip to Mamou, you can order the cookware from https://www.cajuncastiron.com There are also instructions for seasoning on the site.
*Disclaimer, I own the cajuncastiron.com site

I'm not the person you are thinking of. Mr. Mike McGee is the man behind the cookware. I just sell it online. He is a great guy though, full of stories and very good at business.

That T Boy's seasoning on your site kicks the shite out of Tony's btw. In fact I use both that and Slap Ya Momma.

That's the site for the owners of the cookware, they are also a wholesaler. Most of their orders are large bulk orders. They don't really want to get into retail sales, but do offer them if you show up in person.

They're wholesale- send money.
