IMO it had a lot more to do with coaching and team defense.

This times a million.

ETA: maybe I misread it though, i thought u meant for the Bulls lol.

By the way, why is Rose getting a free pass for how awful he's been in these playoffs?

He's shooting like 37%.

I'm not really sure what that means?

Orlando's team defense only existed b/c of Dwight. Rose doesn't change the Bull's defensive philosophy or have a huge impact.

ok, so then you'd admit (unbiasedly) that Rose isn't a top5 scorer. You can't be top5 if you can't shoot with consistency.

It's fairly simple:

If it is a true most valuable by definition, HOward should win.

If it's simply the best player, Lebron should win.

it depends on how you define being a top 5 scorer. if you mean just by putting the ball in the hoop, yeah, he is. if you want efficiency while scoring the ball, he is not a top 5 scorer. some games he'll be hot and be something like 12/18 shooting, then other nights it'll take him 27-30 shots to score his points.

agreed.

and like you said before, if it's the best player on the team with the best record....then it's Rose

but the "V" in MVP stands for Valuable.......

doesn't really matter though

Lebron = MVP every year till he retires, whether he gets the award or not..

Derrick Rose was good, but without the coach and his defensive scheme, bulls would be average

Agree

Paul is by far a better PG than Rose also.

Slow down there, champ. Not saying he is not the best now because he is, but I hope that is just a figure of speech, so to speak because some player x will be better than 35 year old Lebron.

He had a more efficient year.

And you can certainly make a case that Rose is better, BUT, I'm certain of this, Rose is not good enough to play as well as Paul did against LAL for an entire series, so that's a legit point.

Chris Paul is not by far a better point guard than Derrick Rose. There is no argument for that.

Maybe Paul should try an 82-game season on for size, and not just pick and choose what nights he wants to play hard. Showing up for 40 games =/= the best point guard in the NBA. If we are going to hold it against guys like Carmelo, then we have to hold it against Paul too.

And if Paul was the Bulls' point guard this year, they don't have near the record that Chicago finished with. So there's a legit point for you too.
