Yes, it's funny how that works. Bitch about signing O'Bryant, because some analysts were a little critical of him, and then bitch because we are not going toe-to-toe with Grambling and Southern for Long.
Regardless of anyone's opinion of LSU's frontcourt players, it is highly doubtful that Long would get much time ahead of anyone on the team next year, including Jalen Courtney (who also had a better offer sheet than Long and was rated higher).
However, it is not the comparison with Green, White, etc., that matters, it is the comparison with the recruits LSU hopes to sign next year. Any recruits signed this year, will be scholarships not available next year. It appears that LSU's coaching staff thinks that Gathers and Troy Jones are better than Long.

You can call me all the names you like but since the players he has recruited been have losing to the directionals it is not like he can do much worse!
