What do you guys think? Can Patrick Peterson be as good a corner as Prime Time? What about as a returner?

I'm pretty sure at minimum, he'll be a better tackler than Deion ever was. Neon Deon use to be the biggest bitch when it came to tackling, I know this much.

He'll be a better tackler. He lacks Deion's top end/closing speed. And, I think he relied on superior athleticism in college, which he won't be able to rely on in the NFL. So he won't have the immediate impact the way Deion did. But he is a better football player than Deion and if his rookie year scrapes makes him realize he needs to pay better attention to technique, there's no reason to think that by year 3-5 he cannot have a similar impact as Deion.

PP is great but Deion was a freak. The only part of PP's game that will be better is tackling but Deion never really had to tackle. The passes were usually incomplete or intercepted.

PP was the best corner in CFB this season and played at like 6'1 210. Tell me how that's not a freak

your right PP is a freak too, still not Deion though... I remember one qb from his era saying he didn't just not throw at the wr Deion was covering, he didn't throw to his side of the field he was so scared of him. I believe PP can have a HOF career and all that, I just believe Deion is the greatest cb ever.

Sanders played in the NFL at 6'1, 198. PP7 enters at 6'0, 219. Was Sanders faster? Sure. Everyone keeps saying he plays more like Champ Bailey, and I agree. But even Bailey only plays at 6'0, 192. Now thats 21 and 27 more Lbs of muscle. With that will come durability hopefully, and in my opinion makes him a much more explosive athlete. He obviously has the right work ethic to get better with his technique, just like those guys did. Saints need to Ricky Williams up and get him, lol. Minus the dress and shite of course.

Comparing PP to one of, if not the greatest cb's in the history of the NFL is an insult to Prime Time.

I love me some PP but comparing him to Deion is ridiculous.

Deion Sanders never let the kicker run him out of bounds. Patrick Peterson has great speed, even deceptive speed for a guy of his size, but that's all he had, speed. Peterson never made any great cuts or showed any great ability as an open field runner, just speed.
As a corner, please tell me how many pick 6's Patrick Peterson had in his 3 year career at LSU. Teams were able to throw Peterson's way at times (UNC, Bama).
Is Patrick Peterson a great athlete and a great college player, YES!!! Is he in Deion Sanders league, NO!!! (Not at this point anyway)

If you think they're comparable then you weren't old enough to watch Deion in college, fact.

This
I really hope some teams trainer, nutritionist, or something can figure out a way to not have him on the sidelines for a quarter of the game from cramps.
I never understood how LSU couldn't work that one out.

yeah, i gotta agree with the guy above, PP7 is one of my all-time favorite tigers, but Neon Deon was the greatest CB of all time...and I beleive he still owns the FL ST 40 time record...

Deion was really too weak to be compared to PP7 imo. And hey, I guess if we're comparing hall of fame NFL'ers to juniors in college, yeah, Deion was better. But give PP7 some F'ing credit, all I wanna here out of you buncha beotches is that he's not as good *yet*.
