VACHERIE, La. (AP) - The body of a retired agent with the Louisiana State University Agricultural Center has been found in Lake Des Allemands after a three-day search.

Authorities say Larry Brock apparently was setting out hoop nets for catfish near his home when he vanished Thursday. His aluminum skiff was discovered by boaters with the engine running, turning in circles.

The Courier said Brock's body was found Saturday floating not far from where the search had been centered. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Be careful out there guys. All of this could've been prevented by wearing a life jacket. Even if you have been on the water all your life things can still happen.

Prayers sent for family..

I don't care if I look like an idiot... I always wear a LJ if the boat is in motion. Same with seatbelt. That stuff is there for a reason. and you just never know what can happen.

Same here man. Anytime the outboard starts up the life jacket goes on. It's not worth it to take the chance.

Prayers out to the family.

No one steps onto my boat unless they are wearing a life vest with the clips fastened.

ETA: I don't use the kill switch. However, I think I'm going to add that to my standard procedure to be on the safer side.

LIfe vest doesn't do you much good if the boat runs over you. Well, guess it'll be easier to find the body.

On my smaller boats everybody must wear a PFD when underway. In my offshore boats, I do a saftey shake down before I leave the dock and everybody knows were the PFD's and other saftey gear is at.
