You can redshirt and then get a medical redhirt as well? Kirston Pittman, Jason White and Case Keenum all got a 6th year after redshirting. It just doesn't happen a whole lot.

He would have to miss another year due to injury. If you only miss 1 year due to injury you will not get a waiver of the 5 year rule. Since the redshirt he took his FR year was voluntary and not forced due to injury or another circumstance, he will not get a waiver of the 5 yr rule
