Scoring runs helps win games and by not getting an out in a player's at-bat, you are increasing your chances to score more runs, which I am sure you know. Bautista's value came from the fact that he was crushing the ball last year and playing way better than what they paid him for.

exactly.. not because he had a high OBP
He is about to get paid because he drove run in(RBIs)... Not becuase he got on base. if he just had a .370 OBP i don't think he would get paid like he is about to get paid for having 120 RBIs.

I think we are not seeing eye to eye because you are looking at this more a GM who is looking for value but i am talking about this in terms of production.
